Global markets and technologies for nanofibers

The global nanofiber market was valued at $1.8 billion in 2020 and is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.1% to reach $6.7 billion in 2026.

Nanofibers are traditionally defined as cylindrical (hollow or solid) structures having an outer diameter of less than 1,000 nanometers and an aspect ratio (i.e., the ratio between length and width) greater than 50. The high surface area offered by nanofibers, along with other physical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties, makes them suitable for various commercial applications (Table 1).
