This past spring I was lucky enough to participate in a program that allowed me to spend a semester studying abroad. My school advertised the program during the previous summer. I knew a couple other students who were going to the same university, so I decided to go as well.
I moved from a small school in rural New York (Alfred University) to a university in a city 10 times larger (The University of Sheffield, England). I found myself adjusting to the difference in school sizes, student assessment methods, and schools of thought, which are very different from those used in the US.
